FACTS OF INTEREST:
    • Tyrannosaurus Rex, which means "king tyrant lizard", lived at the very end of the Age of the Dinosaurs during the upper Cretaceous Period, 68 to 66 million years ago. It was the largest meat eating land animal ever known.
    • Tyrannosaurus Rex weighed as much as the biggest elephant. It was longer than a boxcar on a train. A tall person would only have reached its knee.
    • Tyrannosaurus Rex lived in western North America and China. Seven complete skeletons of the dinosaur have been found in Montana.
    • Tyrannosaurus Rex was probably a fierce, fast hunter who could kill horned and armored dinosaurs, but some scientists think it was a clumsy giant who ate animals that were already dead.
