Gund Snuffles bears were designed by Rita Raiffe, a Gund Company owner and designer, in 1980. Rita was inspired by the shape of a crescent moon and designed a happy bear to look up at the moon. The design was introduced in 1981 and is now the oldest bear design in the Gund's product line. Gund has offered Snuffles in a variety of colors and sizes from 4 inches to 3 feet tall. There are over 120 styles of Gund Snuffles that have been made, but most have only been offered for one season or year.
